Lapel is a small town that has picked up steady new building around its older core, and the two ages of property want different things. The established streets in town have big shade trees and yards that are more shade than sun by August — turf thins out under that canopy, leaf season is heavy, and the beds want cleaning out more than they want more plants. The newer construction on the edges has thin, compacted builder soil and young landscaping, which is where mulch, fabric and a proper cut edge do the most visible good for the least money.
A lot of Lapel lots run long and narrow with a detached garage or shed at the back, and the back corner behind the outbuilding is the piece nobody gets to. That's brush clearout work, and it's the job we like best because the whole difference shows up in one photo.
